Care of Your Well-Being: Who You Talk to and Spend
Time
With
There are two
types of people in this world: Positive thinkers and
negative thinkers. You know, the old “glass is half full”
or “glass is half empty” thing. The co-creator of Seinfeld,
Larry David, says that he sees the glass as being just too
big. Now,
there’s a creative pessimist for you!
To be successful
in life, you always want to surround yourself with the
positive-thinker types – especially when you are going
through the stress of being a student!
For friends
(especially your boyfriend or girlfriend), you want to pick
people who are generally happy, mostly positive and always
supportive of you and what you are trying to accomplish in
life. People like this will keep your stress levels down
and will, actually, help you succeed in life!
As the saying
goes… You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose,
but you can’t pick your friend’s nose. Wait, that’s not how
that goes! Let’s try that again. You can pick your
friends, but you can’t pick your relatives. Boy, life would
be a LOT simpler if we could -- although some of us wouldn't
have any relatives then! So, what do you do about
those negative relatives? Do your best to avoid them during
times of stress – like the night before an exam or when
you’re trying to write a paper. |
