Oh, man, you’re not going to like this
one… Now, I'm going to sound like your mother! But, it is the quickest and easiest way to lower your
stress levels! KEEP YOUR CAR AND BEDROOM CLEAN! This goes
for your apartment, condo, house or dorm room too –
whichever applies.
Really, you’ve got to believe me on
this one. Having things clean and uncluttered with
everything in it’s place will have several effects:
- You’ll be able to find stuff!
- You’ll be able to get ready in
the morning much faster!
- You won’t die of embarrassment
if someone you know does a “drop in.”
- YOU WILL FEEL CALM AND IN
CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE!
When I was growing up – especially
when I was in college – I was a major slob. No, that's
being too kind. I was a pig. And I mean MAJOR!
My best friend, Cheryl, would call and say, “So, what’s the
percent?” She wasn’t asked me about my math homework, she
was asking what percent of the carpet in my bedroom was showing!
My answer was usually about 80%. Heck, even my cats would
get lost in there. It was frightening! And it made me
extremely inefficient. I probably wasted an hour a day just
looking for stuff.
How many times in a week do you fly
off in a rage or get yourself in a total panic because you
can't find something?
Is it time to clean your room?
Here are some simple questions:
1) Do you remember what color the
carpet is?
2) Are you conducting science
experiments for mold but you’re not taking science this
semester?
3) When you get dressed in the
morning, do you just grab something off the nearest pile?
4) Would the CSI guys think the
place is a crime scene? |
